Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers Under 3 (for Boys & Girls)

I’ve teamed up with Ruth over at Viva Veltoro for this post. She’ll be sharing her ideas for a toddler boy’s Easter Basket. This post contains affiliate links.

When I became a mom, I didn’t put two and two together that mom was just one new role I would be taking on. I failed to recognize that I would also be taking on additional roles during the holidays – both Santa’s elf and the Easter Bunny’s helper.

My toddler has a small vocabulary (well, large for her age; small compared to adults), so she can’t quite verbalize what she would like from Santa or the Easter Bunny. That leaves their little helper to guess what should appear under the tree and in her basket.

Over the years, I’ve Santa and the Easter Bunny have become quite the bargain shoppers; so it’s no surprise that when the holidays come around, they’ve suggested that I make stops at their favorite go-to deal emporiums like Hobby Lobby, the dollar store, the Target dollar spot and clearance racks, Five Below, and even consignment shops (you’d be surprised how many items with tags still on them end up there).

This year, the Easter Bunny asked me to find a mix of treasures for Bear’s basket (preferably under $30 total – he’s cost conscious). I found some fun, age appropriate items for her, which I’m hoping will inspire other Easter baskets for little girls under age 3 (finding small items that aren’t choking hazards can be tough!).

  1. I love these ideas! I never thought of using the free Disney stickers in that basket. I also really like the small Duplo set idea. I’ve got lots to pick up now. 🙂

    • Maggie, that’s funny that you realized those are the free Disney stickers! Hey, she doesn’t know the difference 🙂

  2. These are some great ideas! I put bath toys in my girls Easter baskets every year – I figure, they need to be replaced every month or two anyway, right? I also love that you steered away from candy. Stickers are always a good substitute for candy in our house!

    • Thanks, Jennifer! Yes – the annoying task of replacing bath toys every month or so. 🙂 In lieu of candy, I included some healthy snacks. I’m sure her grandparents will give her enough unhealthy treats when we head over there later in the day.
