Boppy Travel Pillow Made Traveling with an Infant Easier

We’ve been traveling with an infant lately, which can be pretty stressful. It’s hard to not have instant access to all the necessities at home – an infant tub for bath time, a fridge for breast milk, and a support pillow for nursing. Well, turns out, you can have access to a support pillow while on the road thanks to the new Boppy Travel Pillow.

When I saw this item at Babies“R”Us, I had to buy it. Nursing with a Boppy is so much more comfortable than without one. My husband thought I was kind of crazy buying a “version that just zips when we can just stuff the original Boppy in a carry-on bag.” I thought he might have a good point, but I purchased the $45 pillow anyway. And boy am I glad I did.

It comes with a strap so you can easily throw it over your shoulder while you’re going through security, walking through the airport, or boarding the plane. It also has little clasps that hook over a stroller handle so you can secure it to the stroller while in transit.

My two favorite things about the Boppy Travel Pillow are:

(1.) the fact that this infant travel pillow is the same size as the original Boppy but can be zipped for compact travel

Comfortably situated on lap while flying

(2.) that it can be used as nursing support or seat support.

There are a few things that could be improved upon. While it claims to be machine washable, I wish there was a slipcover that came off so you didn’t have to wash the entire pillow with stuffing, zippers, and strap. Bear spit up a little on the travel pillow and I didn’t want to throw the whole thing in the washing machine, so we used some stain remover and the spit up came out. I just wish we could wash the pillow to get the stain completely out.

Since our airplane travel has since come to a halt, we now just keep the nursing travel pillow in the car so I can use it to breastfeed while we are out and about. It’s so nice to no longer bruise myself on that darn seatbelt holder since I now have a cushion for my arm.

Cuddle Time with the Boppy Travel Pillow

I bought the Mama Dot/Basket green color, which is grey on the outside when zipped and green on the inside when open. But I couldn’t buy just one. I had to buy another one so my readers could enjoy one too!

Starting this Thursday, March 1, you can enter to win a Boppy Travel Pillow in Mama Dot/Basket Green color. The Boppy Travel Pillow giveaway will run through March 31, 2013!
